The year 2024 is a significant year for the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Switzerland. It marks the very first arrival of Pastor John N. Andrews, the first official missionary sent by the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to our beautiful country in 1874.
From the American perspective, this mission holds an even greater significance as it opened up an evangelistic mission beyond the borders of the United States, making our small country the cradle of the Adventist Mission worldwide. It is naturally befitting that 150 years later, we rejoice in commemorating this important event in the history of Adventism in Switzerland.
Several events will be hosted throughout the year to celebrate this memorable jubilee. The 6th of July 2024 will be the official day of celebration. We invite all members of the Churches in Switzerland to join the commemoration on that day, in the Halle Marché Concours in Saignelégier, near Tramelan, in the canton of Jura.
